Rep. Day to Hold Senior Expo on Oct. 2

MACUNGIE – State Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh) will be holding a FREE Senior Expo, sponsored by St. Lukes University Health Network, at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road in Macungie on Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

More than 40 vendors will be at the expo offering seniors the opportunity to learn about services, activities and information available to them throughout Lehigh County. In addition, there will be games – beanbag toss and ring toss – with first and second place winners, as well as a raffle drawing at noon (attendance for the full event is not required to win the raffle). Light refreshments will be provided, courtesy of Unique Pretzel Bakery, Herr’s, Just Born Quality Confections and Primo Brands

The expo’s sponsor, St. Luke’s, will be offering during the event its DNA Answers program, which is co-sponsored by St. Luke’s partners at Helix, a population genomics company. The research program seeks to help improve understanding about how DNA impacts health; it aims to improve access to more personalized health care while supporting new research discoveries for our community. There is no cost and health insurance is not required to participate; however, anyone who has had a stem cell transplant or a bone marrow transplant from a donor can’t participate.
